CURRENCY DONATION

We are asking for money you will not miss!

Please take a moment to donate any coins and banknotes and ‘Cash4Coins’ will buy it all and turn it into a useful donation for Edgbarrow School.

We are collecting:

  • FOREIGN COINS OR NOTES
  • OLD BRITISH/IRISH CURRENCY
  • FARTHINGS TO OLD 50 PENCE
  • OLD, OBSOLETE OR CURRENT CURRENCY

Anything that is or was money is accepted.

You can help without really having to put your hand in your pocket by simply sorting out any old foreign notes and coins left over from holidays and business trips.  Any old British or Irish coins and notes can also help. Even old decimal coins or farthings, 1d pennies, three pence, six pence, shillings and crowns are welcome.  So seek out those old Spanish Pesetas, American Dollars, German Marks etc.

Please bring in your donations to School Reception as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully

Edgbarrow School PTA

Catering and Refreshments

We are pleased to inform you that the PTA will be serving refreshments at most school events, including parents’ evening, from now on.With this increased number of events, we are keen to grow our lovely PTA Catering and Refreshment Team. This is a great opportunity to get to know the team, and see what we do; any time you could spare would be greatly appreciated if you can spare an hour or two at any of our events, please let me know.  [email protected]

About the PTA

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an organisation of parents and staff.  Its role is to encourage closer links between home and school.  PTAs are best known for their fundraising work, but they have a useful social function too.  Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together.

The function of Edgbarrow School's PTA is to support the school in promoting activities and assist with fundraising by actively engaging in a range of events across the academic year.  It also serves as a platform for parents to meet and have a voice in regards where funds are allocated.

Select links below for our fundraising initiatives-

EasyFundraising - raise funds via internet shopping

JustGiving - voluntary tax-free donations

The school's Senior Leadership Team forward requests for expenditure to the PTA and decisions are made by member consultation based on priority and fairness, for example meeting the leasing cost of the school bus and the purchase of a laser cutting machine for the Craft Design Technology department.

Besides direct fundraising, the PTA organise and run the annual Careers Evening where organisations and employers come to the school and give advice and guidance on career opportunities which are available to the pupils, this being valuable in deciding GCSE and A Level Options.
