Message from Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service for Summer 2022

Due to the current dry, hot weather we are experiencing, the risk of fire in the area presently sits very high and as a result, fires are quick to get out of control and spread with the arid conditions, causing risk to individuals, property and our local wildlife.

With the warm weather, RBFRS has also seen a large increase in water-related incidents, especially involving young people. As you may be aware from the news there have sadly been tragic deaths of young people recently within Berkshire.

To minimise the potential risks, we are asking all schools (KS3 and above) across Berkshire to disseminate our wildfire and water safety messages to all parents/guardians before the end of term, providing them with the right advice and guidance to discuss the key messages with their young people and in turn, helping to keep families as safe as possible during the summer period.
