Year 8 has been learning about the Tudors and life in the 1500s in England during the Autumn term. Students have studied the reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary I and Elizabeth I, and looked in particular at religious changes during this turbulent time, which transformed life for people across society. For their homework projects, Year 8 researched groups of people who migrated to and from the British Isles at this time, to understand why these people might have migrated to and from this country, at a time when there was greater exploration of the world. Students could research the Huguenots who migrated to England following religious persecution in France, the Black Tudors who lived in England during the 1500s, or those who migrated from the British Isles to the New World in the Americas.
