Welcome to the Sixth Form Meeting for Year 12 parents
Invitation to a Meeting
I would like to welcome you all as Year 12 parents/carers and have pleasure in inviting you to a presentation on Tuesday 26th September at 7.00pm, in the Sixth Form. I apologise for the late notice; the beginning of term has been particularly hectic. However, I hope your son/daughter has already mentioned this to you. The meeting will only last about 45 minutes to an hour, but it will cover some important ground as far as our students and families are concerned.
We shall be chatting to you about our expectations and the way we work with Sixth Formers. I shall also be explaining how we are approaching the new 2-year (linear) A Levels, which are very different and require a different way of working and teaching. We are also working very hard on Independent Learning, and I shall explain how we are trying to support our students in this regard. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions, of course.
We shall also be talking to you about the requirement for our Sixth Form students to undertake work experience in Year 12, and how we anticipate monitoring this.
I hope that you will be able to attend as we look forward to meeting you and continuing an open and mutually supportive relationship with you over the next two years.
We look forward to seeing many of you there.
In the meantime, I would also draw your attention to the 16-19 Bursary Scheme, details of which can be found in the Sixth Form area of our website, and which will be discussed more fully on Tuesday.
With very kind regard
